In the summer of 2013, Marilyn Howard was trained at the American Institute of Mathematics (AIM) in Palo Alto, California to run a math teachers’ circle. Upon returning to Tulsa, Marilyn sought the support of Bill Coberly, Chairman of Mathematics at The University of Tulsa. As Co-leaders of the new Tulsa Math Teachers’ Circle (TMTC), Marilyn and Bill celebrated the inaugural TMTC meeting on October 3, 2013.

The meeting began with dinner served at 6:00 P.M., followed by a wonderful presentation by Dr. Judith Covington, a mathematics professor from LSU Shreveport and a member of the North Louisiana MTC. She facilitated a presentation entitled *SETS* to the thirty-five math educators in attendance. The evening was funded by the Math Department and the College of Engineering and Natural Sciences at The University of Tulsa. TMTC was off to a great start!
